htpasswd
File of storage of the passwords, used by the waiters revolving under Apache
To limit the access to certain users, one places the name of the users authorized in a htaccess file in the repertory concerned. The passwords corresponding to each user are stored, in a codified way, in a htpasswd file. This file is not necessarily placed in the repertory concerned, it is even advised to place it in a nonaccessible zone in traditional HTTP. Several htaccess files can use the same htpasswd file.
