Web bug
Informer in the form of image, placed on a Web page to measure the traffic or to collect information of it on the Net surfer.
In a general way, the Web bug is an image of a pixel on a pixel, which makes it invisible (one speaks then about "invisible pixel"). However, any image can be used like a Web bug. The Web bug can be used to start an external script, in order to recover information on the Net surfer, such as: address IP, host name, configuration of OS, etc. The data thus collected are generally processed by agencies of E-marketing.
