SQL - Structured Query Language
Data-processing language having for object the dialogue with a relational data base.
SQL covers the three essential functions with the implementation and the exploitation of relational data bases: - the creation of the data; - the handling of the data; - the control of the data. The relational model and the languages by allowing the exploitation were developed at the origin by IBM in the years 1970. On the basis of this work becoming standard in fact, the ANSI established a standard into 1986 which melts SQL. Since, this language knew several versions, in particular SQL 2 in 1992, SQL:1999 (SQL 3) in 1999 and SQL:2003 in 2003.
