Definition

Protocol based on XML for the exchange of information in decentralized environment.

Description

This protocol which is the subject of a recommendation on behalf of the W3C, is usually used to establish a channel of communication between services Web (remote invocation via Internet of data-processing treatments). It details 3 parts: - the envelope which draws contours of the message and of described the contents, - rules of encoding of the data and types of data, - conventions which permemttent to define the procedures of invocation and remote answer. SOAP can be used with the top of many protocols of transport of which of course HTTP.
