 Protocols of routing IP

Definition

In environments of dynamic routing IP, information of routing IP is transmitted using protocols of routing IP. The two protocols of routing IP the most used for the Intranets are the protocol RIP (Routing Information Protocol) and protocol OSPF (Open Sho

Description

You can carry out several protocols of routing on the same Intranet. In this case, you must preferably choose the protocol which represents the privileged source of indications on the routes, by configuring the levels. The protocol of preferred routing represents the source of the route added to the table of routing, whatever the metric value of the shown way. For example, if the metric value of a route indicated by OSPF is 5, and that the metric value of a route indicated by RIP is 3, but that OSPF is the protocol of preferred routing, route OSPF is added to the table of routing IP, and ignored route RIP.
