Copy - To bush-hammer
Element of language HTML constituting a transparent block superimposed on the remainder of the page. Often comparable (wrongly) with the beacon < div >.
The copy term appeared in 1997. The copies are elements of language HTML that Netscape added in version 4.0 of its navigator. The beacon < to bush-hammer > constitait in a transparent block in which one could include text, images, animations, and even of other copies. The beacon < to bush-hammer > disappeared quickly quite simply because it was not recognized by Internet To explore, but also because it arrived a little late. Consortium W3C had already envisaged the possibility of positioning not in HTML but in the style sheets CSS.
