Valley Thorens
Valley Thorens, winter sports resort located on the commune of Martin Saint of Belleville, in the department of Savoy (Rhone-Alps Area).
By its altitude, (2300 m), Val Thorens is the highest winter sports resort of Europe It was created in the Sixties and was inaugurated in 1971. Currently, this station of very high altitude offers the greatest skiable field world with more than 600 Kms of tracks which form part of the tourist complex of the Three Valleys. All these mechanical installations make it possible to the tourists innumerable to ski in imposing landscapes and always very varied. The panoramas on all alpine range and the Solid mass of the Mount Blanc are to be cut you the breath. Val Thorens is also famous for its longer track of toboggan of France, 6kms and its impressive snowpark where all the amateurs of feelings and exploits on "boards" like to find themselves. Its name is associated two highly skilled sporting personalities which are the champion of the world and Olympique champion of ski Christine Goitschel (1964) and the national trainer of the female teams of France of ski Jean Béranger. Lastly, it should be specified that Val Thorens is the most important winter sports resort of France
