Flashdisk
Nonvolatile mass memory being able to replace a hard Disk advantageously for example.
FlashDisk is a mass memory or information is stored in memories flash. In the former versions of the memories of storage, information was stored on one or more fero-magnetic plates turning at very high speed (between 4000 and 10000 tours/min). The problem is that that consumed much energy and it was very slow (because of time necessary to position the read head at the good place on the plate). With the memories flash, electric consumption is very low. Moreover, the access time to information is very fast because there is no more no mechanical movement. Information is thus directly accessible. Flashdisks have some disadvantages however: - the price of the memory flash is still higher than that of the magnetic medium, - the write time of information is still slow because of technology employed. The hard disks of next generations could be composed of memory flash.
