EEPROM
Permanent electronic memory (in opposition to volatile memories of type RAM) being able to be rewritten by application of an electric tension higher than the tension of use.
Although resulting from the line of the memories with reading alone, the EEPROM of the FLASH type (used in particular in the numerical keys USB and cameras) now have performances so raised in term speed of read/write and a number of cycles of use which they can be compared with true minis hard disks.
