Principal body of the central nervous system, formed of Neurons and cells gliales located in the brain-pan
The brain is a formed complex matter body (or substance) gray and white. One can distinguish the two cerebral hemispheres, the cerebellum located in the posterior pit and the cerebral trunk, which connects it to the spinal cord. The grey matter contains the cores of the Neurons and is located at surface of the brain (gyri and furrows of the cerebral cortex) and in the gray cores (thalami, cores caudés, etc). It is the seat of all our actions, thoughts, feelings, etc. The white matter is formed of the axons, prolongations of the Neurons Its fibres are the motorways of information. They are surrounded of a layer of myéline, formed lubricating substance of cells gliales. This one accelère transmission of the nerve impulses along the axons. The brain is surrounded of the céphalo-rachidian liquid, which one also finds in his ventricles and his cisterns. This liquid is used of shock absorber and guard with the brain.
